The Variable Filter, also called a Gradient Filter, is an optical filter that has variable light transmission. There are many types of variable filters such as: CVND’s, CVNT’s, LVND’s, LVNT’s, Step Filters, Comb Filters, Apodizing Filters, Circular Variable Spectral Filters and Linear Variable Spectral Filters. These filters are designed to operate from the Ultra Violet to the Far Infrared. They can be produced as small as a few millimeters to over 250mm in diameter or square. Reynard supplies standard catalog variable filters as seen below and is available to produce custom filters per customer’s specifications. Click here for a custom quote!
