Reynard Corporation manufactures custom optical components & thin film coatings from 0.2um to 50um (UV to far IR) to demanding specifications for military, aerospace, medical, telecommunication applications. Diamond Machining Operator/Programmer

Reynard Corporation, a manufacturer of thin film coated optical products, has an immediate opening for a Diamond Turning Operator and Programmer.  Reynard manufactures optical components for a variety of markets including Aerospace, Medical, Defense, Imaging, Automotive, and general R&D.

Functions:

  • Able to read and interpret specifications and prints
  • Set up, programming, and operation of Diamond Turning machines to produce spherical and aspheric optical components
  • Preparing and cleaning of optical components
  • Familiarity with DIFFSYS software, or equivalent tool-path software
  • Adjust machine performance to achieve optimal functionality and processing
  • Measure complex parts using optical metrology equipment to determine compliance, including profilometers and interferometers with the use of CGH’s
  • Maintain functionality of Diamond Turning machines, keeping a well-organized and clean work center
  • Works within ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Desired Functionality:

  • Operate and program CNC machines
  • Knowledge of conventional optical fabrication manufacturing
  • Ability to manage the work of others and provide team leadership

Required Skills:

  • Read and interpret drawings and requirements from custom specifications
  • Critical thinking and resolves issues
  • General computer skills

Working Conditions:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Exposure to chemicals, solvents, and oils
  • Use of safety glasses and latex gloves required

Experience:

  • Min 3 years in diamond turning operation

Education & Qualifications:

  • US Person as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 (Citizen, Permanent Resident)
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Must read, speak, and understand English documentation and written instructions
